[Also in Division C3] A column packing for use in gas chromatography comprises a particulate cross-linked microporous material obtained by cross-linking an organopolysiloxane which contains olefinically unsaturated organic radicals bonded to silicon atoms with an organosilicon compound having hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms (see Division C3). The packing may be used in a copper column with air, N 2 , A, He or H 2 as carrier gas, and retention times are reported for various hydrocarbons and alcohols, as well as for water and CCl 4 .
