Abstract
1,227,871. Monoazo dye mixtures. AMERICAN ANILINE PRODUCTS Inc. 2 May, 1968 [9 Oct., 1967], No. 20972/68. Heading C4P. A dyestuff mixture for dyeing polyester consists essentially of the components of the Formulµ A, B and C wherein R 1 is phenyl, alkyl-phenyl or alkoxyphenyl, wherein the alkyl and alkoxy groups contain 1 to 4 carbon atoms, chloro-phenyl or bromo-phenyl, R 2 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl or C 1 -C 4 chloroalkyl, R 3 is C 1 -C 3 alkyl, R 4 is H or C 1 - C4 alkoxy, X is H, NO 2 , Cl, Br, SO 2 -(C 1 -C 4 )- alkyl, SO 2 NH 2 , CONH 2 , COO-(C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl, CN or CF 3 , Y is NO 2 , CN, SO 2 NH 2 , SO 2 (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl, or NHCOCH 3 , Z is X. Cl, Br, NO 2 , or CN, and n is 1-2; the mixture having been prepared with at least 40% of the theoretical amount of the aromatic esterifying agent forming the R 1 ester group based on the total hydroxy content of the molecule to be esterified and wherein component B comprises at least 25 mole per cent of the mixture and component C comprises no more than 25 mole per cent of the mixture.
