A moulded box for reels of magnetic tape &c. has transparent back, front and side walls 2 . . . 4 and a hinged flanged end, Fig. 3 (not shown), the back wall extending over at least two-thirds of the height of the box. The box lid (11, &c.) has lugs (15) at the rear of its two sideflanges with holes (16) hinged on spigots 6 projecting from the side walls 4. The top edges 7 of the walls 3, 4 are stepped, as shown, to cooperate with similarly-shaped surfaces inside the lid flanges. A recessed projection 9 provides a snap-catch when engaged by a ribbed tongue (19, 20) on the lid. The lid side flanges, which are also transparent, extend only part-way down over the box walls 3, 4 when the lid is closed, and the back flange extends over a minor portion only of the back wall 2. A keyed spigot 8 accepts the hub of a reel. Ribs (42), Figs. 1, 3 (not shown), around the top and bottom surfaces of the lid and box body, separate the surfaces of like boxes when stacked. To pack a reel, the bottom panel 31, Fig. 5, of a label is placed over the spigot 8 with a message-carrying panel 32 against the back wall 2, the reel is placed on the spigot on top of the bottom panel, the top panel 33 is folded on top of the reel and the lid is closed. The message panel 32 is then visible through the back wall 2.
