Abstract
1,224,145. Depigmenting compositions. DSO FARMACHIM. 16 Jan., 1969, No. 2687/69. Heading A5B. Compositions for reducing hyperpigmentation of the skin comprise hydroquinone, an ultraviolet-absorbing compound and a dermatologically acceptable carrier. The hydroquinone may be used as the compound itself or as a plant extract containing it. The specified U/V-absorber is a substance known as "Patral" which is a mixture of aliphatic and aromatic esters of p-methoxy cinnamic acid and aromatic esters of p-acetylaminobenzoic acid. An antioxidant, e.g. vitamin C, an emulsifier and a perfume may also be present.
