Toothed gearing.-In toothed gearing, adapted for driving a lighting dynamo on a railway vehicle the axle of which is liable to axial and lateral movement, a pinion c on the axle b gears with a long pinion d pivoted on the casing e, and the pinion e has attached to it, or formed integral therewith a bevel wheel g. The wheel g gears with a wheel h which drives the dynamo through a shaft k and universal joints j. The distance between the axes of the pinions c, d is preferably less than the sum of the radii of their pitch circles.
