Abstract

1,223,877. Injection moulding electric couplings. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. 3 June, 1969 [4 June, 1968], No. 26461/68. Heading B5A. An injection mould for making cable coupling parts is provided with at least two injection ports 21 so disposed as to input to rubber entering the mould a component of movement towards the end of the mould housing terminals 6, 7, lateral support for the cable being provided at at least one point in advance of the injection ports 21. As shown, terminal sockets 6, 7 are carried by pins 5 projecting from an end wall 3 of the mould. The cable 13 is clamped at 25 and supported within the mould cavity by diametrically opposed bifurcated projections 17. Rubber is injected from a cylinder 22 through channels 23 and the ports 21.
