Abstract
1,221,196. Supply arrangements. LEESONA CORP. 29 March, 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 15334/68. Heading H3W. [Also in Division H1] A metal-air cell (see Division H1) powering a variable load, e.g. a radio-transceiver which takes a high current when transmitting and a low current when receiving, may include means for sensing its voltage and increasing or decreasing the number of cells on circuit to maintain the voltage within prescribed limits. In Fig. 4 the battery is represented by primary source 40a and secondary source 40b. The radio-transceiver is represented by variable load R L . On switching from receiving to transmitting a voltage drop over resistor 57 is sensed by amplifier 57 which operates relay 53 to close switch 54 and bring source 40b on circuit. Source 40a is permanently connected to load R L via solid state rectifier 58 to prevent power failure during switching.
