1,220,485. Registering multicolour printing. BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO CO. Ltd. 11 Feb., 1969 [20 Feb., 1968], No. 8220/68. Heading B6C. [Also in Division B8] A blank from which a carton may be made up is printed in at least two colours and means 7, 8, 9 for checking the registration of the colours are provided on parts of the blank which are not exposed to the exterior of the made-up carton. These means each comprise concentric portions of two of the colours with which the block is printed, and are separated in each case by an area not printed with the said two colours. The width of the unprinted area may be such as to indicate a maximum permissible misregistration. Preferably the concentric portions are square, rectangular or circular. By printing concentric figures side-by-side on adjoining blanks which are to be separated a means of assessing misregister in the separation of blanks is also provided.
