Abstract

An oil-fuelled heater includes a casing 11, a burner pot 22 to which fuel is supplied from a tank 14 via a control valve 15 regulated by means of a control knob 17 and shaft 18 or by a thermostat, and a blower 35 driven by an electric motor 37 to supply combustion air, the shaft 18 carrying a by wheel 19 engaging with a pinion 20 connected to a rheostat 21 connected in the motor circuit so that as fuel flow is adjusted, the blower speed is varied also and a baffle plate 42 for varying the length of travel of exhaust gases is moved to increase the length of travel from burner to exhaust outlet passage as fuel supply is increased by means of a linkage to the shaft 18.
