Abstract
1,219,912. Motor vehicles &c. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 18 April, 1968 [16 May, 1967], No. 22665/67. Heading B7H. [Also in Divisions G2 and H1] A switch or control device, particularly a vehicle choke control, has one end of an optical cable in close proximity thereto, the other end being adjacent a light source, the arrangement being such that light may be seen when the device is in the on position, but when in the off position the light is obscured. As shown, a nut 19 which secures the fixed part of a choke cable assembly 13, also holds a plate 12 with window 12a and a spring clip 21 against facia panel 11, the spring clip 21 receiving one end of the optical cable. Light travelling from the source along the cable passes through the window 12a and a bore 11a in facia panel 11 to a lens 23 to be seen in the on position shown. In the off position a cover 15 on knob 14 obscures lens 23.
