Abstract

1,217,927. Rolling wire. MOELLER & NEUMANN G.m.b.H. 27 Nov., 1968 [30 Nov., 1967], No. 56205/68. Heading B3M. A continuous rolling mill train for rolling bar stock, particularly round bars, comprises roll stands that are driven together in groups ABCDF each stand group consisting of two outer horizontal stands and one intermediate vertical stand. The rolling is effected with a light tension within the groups and without tension through loop formers between the groups. Twist bushes may be mounted between the groups if required. In the preferred embodiment a roll stand group E having two stands is mounted in front of stand group F and consists of one horizontal stand followed by a vertical stand and following group F a single vertical stand G is provided. The threestand groups are each driven by a common motor 20 through gearing 21, the two stand group E by a motor 22 through gearing 23 and stand G by motor 24, the speeds of the motors being adjusted to maintain loops between the stand groups.
