1,215,714. Laser cutting of metals. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. 11 March, 1968 [16 March, 1967; 31 July, 1967; 23 Nov., 1967; 5 Dec., 1967], Nos. 14517/69; 14518/69; 14519/69 and 14520/69. Heading B3V. [Also in Division B5] Laser apparatus includes a laser 10 and supporting optical means 32 for focusing the laser beam 26 on to a workpiece 42, a nozzle 40 at the end of the tube 36 through which the laser beam 26 emerges in the direction of the workpiece 42 and means for directing a gas stream at the workpiece through the nozzle to sweep away material which has been melted or vaporized by the beam. The subject matter is identical with that of the parent Specification 1,215,713.
