Abstract
1,215,027. Polymerizable dental fillings. KULZER & CO. G.m.b.H. 6 Aug., 1968 [18 Aug., 1967], No. 37429/68. Heading C3P. A composition of use in the filling of teeth, either for pretreatment prior to filling or for use as a filling, comprises a mixture of (1) boric acid or a boron compound, e.g. a trialkyl borate, which yields boric acid under the filling conditions and either (2) a liquid polymerizable monomer such as methyl methacrylate or (3) a filling composition which comprises a liquid polymerizable monomer and a polymer in powder form. The composition may be cured under the influence of a known Redox system after introduction into the tooth cavity.
