Abstract

1,213,989. Releasable fastenings. E. L. CARLTON. 9 Nov., 1967 [18 Aug., 1967], No. 50992/67. Headings E2A and E2B. [Also in Divisions B3, F1 and F2] A unit for dispensing viscous material from a cartridge 10, Fig. 1, (see Division F1), comprises a member 20 which has an air hose fitting and is telescopically received within one end of the cartridge, and a member 19 which is pivotally connected to the member 20 by rods 16 or by a semi-circular channel member and is forced over the dispensing end of the cartridge. Pressurized air supplied through the air fitting causes the material to be discharged through a nozzle 13 carried by the member 19. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 11, 13 and 15 (not shown), the discharge nozzle is fitted to the front end wall of the cartridge, the member 19 is omitted and the front ends of the rods are joined by an integral sinuous or arcuate rod section extending across the front end wall.
