Abstract

1,213,192. Tape casette apparatus. MOTOROKA Inc. 22 Feb., 1968 [14 March, 1967], No. 8572/68. Heading G5R. When a cassette 12 is loaded to a machine, it engages a linkage 47, 53 subject to an overcentre spring bias 57 to move it to an operative position in which a device 82 connected to the linkage engages, moves and locks the cassette, the linkage also being operable to eject the cassette. As shown, the cassette engages a tab 51 on a lever 47 engageable with the linkage 53 to pivot the latter. Operation of a solenoid 68, by depressing a reject button or by opening the ignition switch of a vehicle containing the machine (circuit, Fig. 5, not shown), causes its armature 70 to retract and pivot a lever 63 to which one end of the overcentre spring 57 is connected. Alternatively, the spring 57 may be anchored to the deck and the cassette loaded and unloaded manually. The machine includes contacts (not detailed) closable by the cassette to energize the motor and a solenoid (38, Fig. 1. not shown) operable to rotate a face cam (34) to track-change the head (28) when contacts (36) are bridged by a conductive portion on the tape.
