Abstract

1,212,836. Street lighting posts. COURTNEY, POPE (ELECTRICAL) Ltd. 14 Jan., 1969 [24 Oct., 1967], No. 48302/67. Heading E1B. A street lighting post comprises a base plate 2 which is bolted to a concrete plinth and a cover 6 pivoted thereto and carrying a light supporting pole 7, the cover being secured to the base plate in the upright position by a bolt 12 passing through, a hole 10 in the cover, holes 9, and 9' in lugs 8 and 8' the plate into a blind hole 11 in the cover. The bolt is locked in position in the blind hole against the pressure of a spring 13 on the end thereof by means of a lock and key mounted adjacent lug 8'. The cover may be restricted from pivoting too far by a tension spring or a chain.
