Abstract

1,212,554. Yielding mine arches. BECORIT (RESEARCH) Ltd. 24 April, 1969 [14 March, 1968], No. 12354/68. Heading E1E. An arcuate fishplate having 'bolt holes 14 for attachment to a mine arch section is provided with an elongated slot 10 for attachment to a relatively yielding mine arch section, the slotted portion of the fishplate being reinforced by U-section members 12 bridging the slot without obstructing longitudinal movement of the bolt received therein. In a modification, see Figs. 4..7 (not shown), (bath portions of the fishplate are provided with elongated slots reinforced by U-shaped bridging members on either side of a medial, transversely extending web, the end walls of the fishplate being reinforced by end walls.
