Abstract

1,212,243. Electrostatic loud-speakers; horns. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. 1 April, 1968, No. 15517/68. Headings H4J and H4X. An electrostatic pressure loud-speaker has a diaphragm 1 actuable by electrostatic forces between it and at least one electrode 3, and to one side of the diaphragm 1 there is connected the input part 5 of a horn 6 having an input cross-section smaller than the active area of the diaphragm 1. The electrode 3 defines a plurality of ducts or channels 4 which interconnect the diaphragm 1 with the input part 5 of the horn 6. There may be a second electrode 2. The ducts or channels 5 have a constant cross-section and the sum of the cross-sections is equal to the cross-section of the input part of the horn 6. Preferably the horn is of exponential type.
