Abstract

1,210,832. Pipe joints. HEPWORTH IRON CO. Ltd. 20 June, 1968, No. 29402/68. Addition to 1,142,950. Heading F2G. In a pipe coupling socket as claimed in Specification 1,142,950, the locking ring 11 has an inwardly projecting circumferential rib 16 at the free end of its outer side which is capable of snap fit engagement over a circumferential flange 18 on the socket, the outer face 19 of the rib and preferably the front face of the flange being bevelled to facilitate said engagement. The inner face 15 of the rib 16 is also bevelled to urge the locking ring on to the socket and press the sealing ring flange against the socket rim.
