Abstract
1,210,720. X-ray television microscope. N. V. ROBODZEI, V. A. OSTRIN, N. V. KUZMICHEVA, G. V. SHIDLOVSKY, E. M. LJUBIMOV, and M. N. NADOBNIKOV. 1 Oct., 1968, No. 46565/68. Heading H4F. The Specification describes an X-ray television microscope of the type wherein an X-raybeam 7, Fig. 1, passes through the test object 6 to cast an X-ray shadow on the target 5 of an image converter 4 and the resulting video output signals from the converter are fed to a T.V. monitor to produce an enlarged image of the test object's internal structure. A mirror, substantially at an angle of 45 degrees to the axis of the beam, is interposed between the X-ray source 9 and the test object 6 (the mirror being transparent to X-rays) such that through an observation window 3 an observer may view the image of the test object against the background of the converter target as well as the side view of said object and target. From the former view a correlation is possible between the monitor image and the actual test object whilst the latter view enables the distance between the test object and target to be observed and adjusted for focusing purposes. An embodiment complete with stand and using an X-ray tube emitting the beam laterally from one end, is shown in Fig. 2 (not shown).
