Abstract

1,210,346. Lamp caps; discharge tubes. J. BESACIER. 12 June, 1969 [14 June, 1968], No. 29978/69. Heading H1D and H1F. An incandescent lamp or fluorescent tube 4 having a neck 3 formed with a pair of spaced grooves 5 which are disposed in a common transverse plane is fitted with a plastics base cap 1 which has internal anchoring beads 6 adapted to engage in the grooves 5 and one or more longitudinal slits 7 which enable the cap to expand sufficiently to snap on to the neck. When the cap is in position on the neck the opposite edges of each slit 7 are sealed together by ultrasonic vibration welding or electric induction heating.
