Abstract
1,208,607. Root crop harvesters. LANDBOUWWERKTUIGENEN MACHINEFABRIEK H. VISSERS N.V. 26 Sept., 1967 [29 Sept., 1966], No. 43812/67. Heading A1F. A root crop harvester includes a travelling frame carrying a lifter for a row of roots, said lifter comprising two ground penetrating lifting members 10 reciprocable relative to each other, a gate 16 pivotally mounted on an axis 17 so as to be raised by roots received in the lifter, and abutment means provided to limit the down swing of the gate to prevent roots passing the gate in the direction of travel of the frame. Relative reciprocation of the lifting members 10 is effected by eccentrics 5 driven via shaft 4, 6. The gate comprises two L-shaped rods which are pivotally mounted on a holder 15 and which abut a portion 18 of the holder 15. The holder may be variable in length. A housing 1 on which the lifter is pivotally mounted is mounted for movement transversely of the harvester on four arms 21. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,126,893.
