Abstract
1,208,507. Blade fixing. SOC. NATIONALE D'ETUDE ET DE CONSTRUCTION DE MOTEURS D'AVIATION. July 1, 1968 [July 11, 1967], No.31338/68. Heading F1T. Turbine or compressor blades 2 are fixed to a wall 1 which may be a stator casing or an outer rotor drum, by inserting each blade radially into an aperture 1a in the wall 1, sliding an insert 7 radially outwards over the blade until it surrounds the blade root 2a in the aperture 1a and then locking together all the blades in the row by a split ring 8 passing through holes 2c, 7c, in the blades and inserts respectively and lying in a circumferential groove 1c in the wall. The ring 8 is itself locked against circumferential movement by a pin, screw or key 9 inserted into a hole 1d in the wall to pass through the split in the ring 8. The split is just large enough to permit an individual insert 7 and blade 2 to be removed without unlocking the remaining blades. At their inner ends the blades are mounted in axial dovetail grooves 2d in a disc 3.
