A device for dividing blocks of plastic cellular concrete comprises cutting wires arranged in at least two groups, one group being arranged behind the other in the direction of advance of the wires. Preferably each group contains not more than six wires and the groups are separated by 400-900 mm. As shown, the block 19 of concrete in a plastic state is moved through four groups of wires 19, 20, 21, 22 fixed on frames 12, 13, 14, 15 and is sliced horizontally.
