Abstract

1,206,656. Temperature indicators. ROLLSROYCE Ltd. Nov.28, 1968 [Dec. 18, 1967], No.57481/67. Heading G1D. A temperature indicator comprises a box material 10 to which is adhered a strip of thermoplastic resin 12 having at least one aperture 14, the or each aperture then being filled with a layer of a heat resisting adhesive 16, a piece of temperature sensitive paper 18 and a transparent heat resistant cover 20 overlapping the paper 18 to encapsulate it. Pressure may be applied to the assembled indicator to reduce its thickness and improve the bonding between its components. The base material may be in the form of a turbine blade or may be a sheet of thermoplastic resin from which the strip 12 may be peeled off for subsequent attachment to a body the temperature of which is to be sensed. The adhesive 16 is preferably (Registered Trade Mark) "Araldite" and the cover 20 may be of mica.
