Abstract

1,206,456. Plastics boats. L. M. KRENZLER. 5 Dec., 1967 [7 Aug., 1967], No. 55167/67. Headings B7A and B7S. A boat hull comprises one or more webs, such as 24, 26, of corrugated material having a plurality of alternate trough and peak portions which co-operate with shell 10, 12, 14 to define open cavities 32 and closed cavities 30 which extend longitudinally within the hull, the cavities being filled with foamed plastics material. In the embodiment shown, the trough portions such as 34 are glued to the shell and peak portions such as 36 are coplanar to provide support for floor boards 20. The effect is to provide long stringers, defined by the open and closed cavities which stiffen and reinforce the hull.
