Abstract
1,206,087. Thermal switches. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 23 May, 1969 [28 May, 1968], No. 26374/69. Heading H1N. [Also in Division F1] A thermal delay relay having bimetals 12, 18, Fig. 1, heated by a coil 11 carrying the current in a glow-plug ignition system (see Division Fl), operates to close contacts 16, 17 and light an indicator lamp (21), Fig. 3 (not shown), after a time lag approximating to the required preheating period of the glow plugs. One bimetal 12 extends through the heating coil 11 and carries a contact 16 co-operating with contact 17 on a shorter bimetal 18 remote from the coil 11. The arrangement of the bimetals is such that the contacts 16, 17 undergo a rubbing action which removes the pitting and oxidation layers.
