Abstract

1,204,715. Pipe-laying ships. J. RAY McDERMOTT & CO. Inc. 3 Oct., 1967 [17 Oct., 1966], No. 44940/67. Heading B7A. [Also in Division F2] A barge 2 for use in laying an underwater pipe-line 4 is moved forwardly by a propeller 12, the wash from which is intercepted by pivoted vanes 16 to deflect the wash from the suspended pipe-line 4 and to overcome the yawing tendency of the barge.
