Abstract

1,204,669. Spinning and twisting machines. D. MAY. 22 Dec., 1967 [24 Dec., 1966], No. 58470/67. Heading D1D. [Also in Division F2] A seal for a ball bearing having inner and outer races 2, 1 with balls 3 therebetween, comprises rotating discs 8 which are positioned one at each end 5 or 6 of the inner race 2 and are provided with milled &c outer peripheral surfaces. The sealed bearing is suitable for use on the bottom rollers of spinning machines and in an embodiment is mounted on a pin 10. Cylinders 11, having necks 12, are screwed onto the pin 10. Each neck 12 abuts a disc 8 and thus axially locates the bearing. In a modification at least one of the sealing discs 8 is formed integrally with a neck 12 and is provided with a milled &c. surface.
