120,445. Blatchford, C. A. Nov 10, 1917, Limbs, artificial.-In a foot, a buffer e arranged in the foot is engaged by a shoe g on an arm f. In the form shown in Fig. 1, which is adapted for short or medium amputations, the arm f extends from an ankle joint member, and a metal spring i ie provided at the rear. In the form shown in Fig. 3, in addition to the arm f, a rearwardly projecting arm p is provided to engage the spring i, and the arms f, p extend from a crossbar o connecting the side members l of the joint. A buffer or spring t is interposed between the foot and a separate toe piece. Specification 113,005 is referred to.
