In a method of making main folding sets, each constituted by two sheets 1 covered with a non-encapsulated reproductive or receptive coating 3, 5, which faces an uncoated side 4 of an underlying sheet 1 or a plain sheet 2 completing the set, the coating 3, 5 is treated with a wetting agent such that when the sets are stacked for application of an adhesive along a longitudinal edge of the stack, the adhesive penetrates the coating to bond the sheets 1, 1, 2 together in each respective set only so that on drying of the adhesive the sets are readily separable from one another.
