Abstract
1,202,711. Regenerating Raney nickel. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 15 Jan., 1968 [20 Jan., 1967], No. 3064/67. Heading B1E. Raney nickel catalysts which have lost activity in use as contact agents in the conversion of pyridines to 2:2'-dipyridyls are reregenerated by contact with an alcoholic solution of an alkali metal hydroxide. The solution may be passed through a bed of catalyst or the latter suspended in an agitated solution. An example describes the revivification of a Raney Ni catalyst using an ethanolic solution of KOH.
