Abstract
1,201,877. Protective arrangements. LANDIS & CYR A.G. 19 Dec., 1968 [29 Dec., 1967], No. 60447/68. Heading H2K. An earth leakage protective arrangement comprises a differential transformer 6, and an oscillator the input of which is connected to the secondary winding 7 of the transformer 6 and the output of which is connected to a primary winding 19 of a transformer 20 having a secondary winding 27 connected by way of a rectifier 28 to a relay 16. When earth leakage occurs, the output from the secondary winding 7 stops the oscillator oscillating and the relay 16 releases. The oscillator includes a transistor 18 and a feedback winding 22 of the transformer 20 is connected to the base of the transistor or, as shown, to the emitter of the transistor. The arrangement may receive its power supply from a cell 37 through auxiliary contacts 36 which close before main contacts 35 of a switch arrangement 34 close. The secondary winding 7 of the differential transformer may be of resistance wire with the circuit constants such that open circuiting or short-circuiting of the secondary winding 7 stops the oscillator oscillating.
