Abstract

1,201,817. Non-caking particulate urea. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 9 Sept., 1968 [18 Sept., 1967], No. 42417/67. Heading C2C. Particulate urea having improved free-flowing properties and improved resistance to caking is obtained by treating particulate urea with, or incorporating therein, a minor quantity of at least one compound of the formula wherein x is a whole number, R is a radical derived from a molecule of the formula RH x containing x active hydrogen atoms, and n is a whole number such that the molecular weight of the compound is at least 1000. The particulate urea may be in crystalline, granular, pelleted or prilled form and may be coated with the above compounds or the compounds may be incorporated within the prills. The compound is suitably present in an amount consisting between 100 and 500 p.p.m. by weight of the urea, specified compounds being polyoxypropylene and polyoxypropylated glycerol and triethanolamine.
