Abstract

1,201,156. Filter. W. & R. BALSTON Ltd. 10 Nov., 1967 [10 Nov., 1966], No. 50513/66. Headings B1D and BIT. A filter for cleaning small amounts of air or water, for photographic processing, comprises a resin-bonded glass fibre tubular filter element 16 in a three-part demountable housing 11, 12, 13, the ends of the element engaging sealingly with the chamfered ends 36, 34 of part 11 and support 21. Support 21 comprises a wall closing one end of the element and circumferentially spaced lugs 24 between which fluid passes between space 26 and inlet or outlet 18. Ridges 19 on the inlet and outlet 17 and 18 enable rubber tubing to be connected thereto and flow may be in either direction through element 16. The support 21 and the housing parts 11, 12, 13 may be moulded of polypropylene, polyethylene or transparent poly(4 methylpentene-1).
