Abstract

1,200,510. Hatch covers. TRANSPORT EFFICIENCY N.V. 27 Feb., 1968 [3 March, 1967], No. 9424/68. Heading B7S. In a hatch cover system, which can be stored in a space 6 and is formed of pairs of hinged sections each consisting of a broad section la located nearer the storage space and a narrow ection 1b each pair of sections moves by means of at least one set of rollers 3 on guideways 4 located on the sides of the coaming 5 and extending on either side of the storage space 6. The system is characterized in that in the folded condition of each pair of sections the axis of the set of rollers or one of the sets of rollers 3 of each broad section 1a is placed at such a distance beneath the centre of gravity of the respective pair of sections that this centre of gravity lies at the same horizontal level in the folded as well as the straightened condition of the pair of sections while the narrow section 1b of each pair of sections is connected with the broad section of the adjacent pair of sections by an arm 12 which is pivotally connected at one end and rigidly fastened at the other end.
