Abstract

1,198,368. Counting sheets. FERAG, FEHR & REIST A.G. 8 Feb., 1968 [8 Feb., 1967], No. 6253/68. Heading G4D. A photo-electric pick-up rides on a stream of overlapping sheets, the leading edge of each sheet interrupting a beam of light to operate a counter. The head 1 is loaded by a spring 4. Light from a lamp 6 is reflected from a sheet to a photo-cell 7 except when the leading edge of a sheet obscures either window 8 or 9 (Fig. 2) before lifting nose 5 of the head. The light path, Fig. 5, may involve reflection by a pair of mirrors.
