Abstract
1,196,443. Spray producers. DOWDING & PLUMMER Ltd. 25 April, 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 22051/67. Heading B2F. An aerosol-producing device including blower 14 means arranged to blow a stream of air through a discharge nozzle 26. a jet 35 adjacent to the discharge end of the nozzle in the path of the air stream passing through the nozzle and connected by conduit means 36 to at least one reservoir far fluid, has a static member 29 disposed within the discharge nozzle upstream of the jet and adapted to cause the air stream to swirl in a vortex around the jet to produce a partial vacuum around the jet and draw fluid from the or each reservoir to discharge it into the air stream and produce an aerosol, said static member comprising a disc 29 having a central boss through which the jet passes, and a plurality of curved vanes on the side of the disc adjacent the discharge end of the nozzle to direct the air stream. The blower may be connected to the reservoir to enhance the fluid flow, and may be operated by a power supply fed by cable 22 to a handle 20 having a controlling switch (21).
