Abstract
1,196,182. Valves. WURTT GASZAHLERFABBIK J. BBAITN & CO. G.m.b.H. 1 Feb., 1968 [2 Feb., 1967], No. 5170/68. Heading F2V. A gas pressure regulating valve has its pressure sensing and cut off mechanisms incorporated in an easily replaceable unit. The pressure sensing unit comprises a diaphragm 9 in an annular capsule 8 having a vented upper chamber, and a lower chamber connected to the down stream pressure via a pipe 46 located in Venturi outlet 45. Movement of the diaphragm is communicated by members 15 to a bridge 14 which is loaded by springs 33 acting through lever 16, and which carries closure members 12, 13 adapted to engage an annular seat 10 respectively under excess low or high pressure conditions. The capsule is secured between casing shells 1, 2 (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) by its edge 17. To permit the valve to re-open after closure 12 has seated, a manually operable valve 48 (Fig. 5, not shown) is opened to admit upstream pressure to the outlet and thus the lower capsule chamber.
