Abstract

1,196,037. Connecting means for toy construction kits. PARKER INDUSTRIES Ltd. 14 Nov., 1967 [19 Oct., 1967], No. 51827/67. Heading A6S. A connecting element 13, for use with structural elements 11 having slots 12 in their ends (Specification 1,158,679), is formed with a thickness adequate to engage frictionally in the slots 12 of said structural elements, and is further formed (with upstanding ribs 14 on at least one of the sides which engage the inner faces of said slots 12, said upstanding ribs 14 being disposed so as to engage frictionally the sides of the element 11 adjacent to the slots 12. Preferably, the element is formed with upstanding ribs on both the opposing sides. As shown in Fig. 1, element 13 engages, three structural elements 11. The connecting element may also be cruciform (Fig. 4, not shown), when four structural elements may be engaged. A disc-shaped element 18, in Fig. 8 (not shown), engages ten structural elements radially, in channels 19 having ribs 20, and structural elements may also be engaged perpendicular in disc 18, by means of slots 23 and holes 24. A central hole 21 may take a shaft.
