[Also in Division B5] A plastics package binding strap has a zig-zag cross-section to give greater area of contact when the ends are overlapped for securing by heat seating, adhesive or a metal clip. The surface may be roughened to increase frictional grip and grooves 2 extending longitudinally of one or more ridges to permit dividing a wider strip into narrower ones may be provided. The material may be strengthened by alternating heating, stretching and cooling treatments to produce longitudinal molecular alignment.
