Abstract

1,194,772. Two-part couplings. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. 30 Jan., 1969 [7 Feb., 1968], No. 6025/68. Heading H2E. A multiple connector assembly for electric wiring systems comprises a two-part housing of insulating material; one housing part, base 1, comprises a plurality of slots and apertures (Fig. 5, not shown) for receiving connector strips 10 and connector pins 8 respectively, one or more pairs of pins being formed integrally with each connector strip (Figs. 1-3, not shown), and has a number of attached clips 9 for accommodating fuses and to which the ends of the connector strips may be connected; the other housing part, cover 11, has a plurality of apertures for receiving those connector pins remote from the base. The pins 8 which project from the housing are engaged by connector sleeves 30, mounted in sockets 15, 16, said sleeves being connected to conductor wires 17, 18. As shown, the connector is mounted in an aperture in a partition 43 so as to permit the insertion of said sockets 15, 16 from both sides of the partition.
