Abstract

1,194,353. Two part couplings. WAGGONBAU BAUTZEN VEB. 4 Oct., 1967, No. 45129/67. Heading H2E. A connector for multi-conductor cables comprises a body 3 having projections 7 and carrying pins 1<11> which are inserted into slit resilient contact sleeves 1<1> embedded in an elastic member 2 located in a second body 4. When clamping screws 5, which hold the bodies 3 and 4 together, are tightened, pressure caused by projections 7 displacing the material of member 2 is exerted on the sleeves 1<1> to cause them to grip the pins 1<11>. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the elastic member, which is of circular crosssection, is enclosed by a compression band which, on being tightened produces contact pressure between the sleeves and the pins.
