1,192,093. Rolling wire. SCHLOEMANN A.G. 17 Jan., 1968 [17 Jan., 1967], No. 2544/68. Heading B3M. [Also in Division C7] In the continuous rolling of steel wire having a carbon content of more than 0À1% in a mill having stands in successive stages, the wire is cooled between last roll stand of the penultimate stage, and the final stand of the finishing stage, to bring the temperature of the wire below the temperature of eutectic grainboundary melting. The temperature of a cooling medium applied to the wire is controlled by a regulator which measures the final temperature of the rolled wire.
