Abstract

1,191,925. Terry looms; beat-up motions. NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP. 5 May, 1967 [25 May, 1966], No. 21084/67. Heading D1E. A terry reed 29 is pivoted between fast and loose positions by a vertically movable cam track 34 which is adjustable in a warpwise direction to vary the position of the reed at the fell, which may be adjusted vertically to vary the pivotting angle of the reed, which may may have its vertical stroke adjusted to vary the fast and loose positions of the reed and which may be disconnected from its driving mechanism to maintain the reed in its fast position for plain weaving. The cam track 34 is guided vertically by a roller 43, running in a straight groove, the roller being pivotally mounted about a screw 44 to vary the warpwise position of the track 34. The track 34 is vertically reciprocated by a rocker arm 54 whose angular movement is adjustable to vary the stroke of the track and the rocker arm 54 is connected to the rod 33 which moves the track 34, by a link 56 whose length is adjustable to vary the height of the track. A pattern mechanism may disconnect the linkage (Figs. 10, 11 (not shown) which oscillate the rocker arm 54. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,101,508.
