Abstract

1,191,787. Filtering chromic anhydride. DIAMOND SHAMROCK CORP. 13 May, 1968 [15 May, 1967], No. 22666/68. Heading BID. [Also in Division C1] Molten chromic anhydride prepared from an alkali metal dichromate and sulphuric acid is filtered whilst molten. The filter medium may be sintered titanium, porous ceramic or stainless steel cloth with pore size 10-50Á. Filtercuds e.g. diatomaceous earths and asbestos fibres may be added. The mass may be filtered while under pressure (e.g. 20-125 psi).
