Abstract

1,189,840. Colorimeter. SHANDON-ELLIOTT Ltd. Sept.27, 1968 [Oct. 26, 1967], No.48651/67. Heading G1A. A colorimeter comprises a pair of fibre-optic rods or bundles 10, 11, Fig. 1 having opposed ends spaced apart to form a gap 12, a light source 15 for directing light into the other end of one of the rods, and a light sensitive device 20 positioned to receive light from the other end 14 of the other rod or bundle. The gap 12 may be adjustable and at the bottom of the "U" or in one of the legs. Lenses 17, 19, may be included in the light path on either side of the bundles. The detector output may be amplified and indicated. The source may be of variable intensity and a filter 16 may be included in its output. Such a colorimeter may have the gap 12 sequentially immersed in samples fed forward step by step on a turntable.
