Abstract

1,189,455. A.C. generators with D.C. field windings. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 23 Aug., 1967 [3 Sept., 1966], No. 38725/67. Heading H2A. [Also in Division G3] In an electrical installation comprising a multiphase generator 10 to whose output are connected a first rectifier set 13 for supplying direct current to a load, e.g. a battery 15, and a second rectifier set 14 for supplying direct current to the generator field winding 12, a voltage regulator 19 is connected both to a diode 27 connected to the second rectifier set 14 and to at least one resistive component connected to a switch 33, such as an ignition switch, leading to the first rectifier set 13. The installation is for use in a motor or railway vehicle, and the regulator 19 may be of the electromagnetic type shown or of the transistorized type. The resistive component may be a low value resistor 29, and the switch 33 is coupled to a further switch 36 in a lead 35 to other, e.g. ignition, loads. A second diode 28 may be connected in series with, or alternatively form, the resistive component.
