Abstract

1,189,417. Traction apparatus. E. P. R. VIEL. 3 April, 1968 [25 Jan., 1968], No. 15966/68. Headings A5R and A6M. An apparatus for traction exercises comprises a rod-like member to which tractiontransmitting elements 11 and 12 (fig. 4) for securing to the body are attached, the rod-like member comprising two elongated elements 1 and 1' connected lengthwise with one another, their free ends having ferrules 6, 6' to allow the attachment to the elongated elements of the traction-transmitting elements. The apparatus further includes a tensioning string 9' interconnecting the free ends of the rod-like member, the string being tightened and loosened by moving the handle 10. The elongated elements can be subjected to prestress by the tensioning string before the apparatus is used and the stress can be varied as desired during the use of the apparatus.
