Abstract
1,188,672. Up-and-over door operating mechanism. ELLARD SLIDING DOOR GEARS Ltd. and W. G. ELLARD. 4 May, 1967 [4 May, 1966], No. 19749/66. Heading E2M. A mechanism for operating an up-and-over door 1 comprises a slideway 2, .a sliding carriage 4, a pivoted or flexible link 3 for attaching the carriage to the door, and a motor (10) - driven endless belt 7 attached to the carriage so that the carriage travels outwards or inwards according to the direction of running of the electric motor. Limit switches 23, 24 may be provided, and an electrical contact device 21 controlling a relay for reversing the motor may be included and arranged to be operated against a pre-loaded spring 17 in case the door is obstructed during downward movement. If required the door may be uncoupled from the operating mechanism by retracting hinge-pin 11 via the mechanism handle 14, link 13 and lever 12.
